Rik Wright

Rik Wright’s Fundamental Forces is an award-winning collective of musicians who are known for their genre-bending performances - worldbeat one minute, rock the next, a touch of jam band and back to the core of jazz. Blending forward thinking arrangements with a core groove that listeners can tap their toe to, their music has an undeniable allure that has propelled them all the way to the top of the jazz radio charts.

Bandleader Rik Wright has taken his love and passion for the guitar to just about every corner of the Pacific Northwest, performing at Bumbershoot, Northwest Folklife, Bite of Seattle, and enumerable other community and arts festivals throughout the region. He has placed 4 albums in the top 10 of both the Roots Music and CMJ Jazz radio charts, even going all the way all the way to #1 in 2016.

In 2017, Rik was the recipient of an Earshot Jazz Golden Ear Award, and runner-up for Seattle Weekly's "Best of Seattle" in the category of "Best Jazz Act". Wright’s efforts have been generously supported by 4Culture, the Seattle Arts Commission, The Seattle Public Library’s PlayBack program, and the Jack Straw Foundation. Rik is listed in the King County Touring Arts roster, a juried directory of the State of Washington’s very best performing artists.
